Description

Good Shepherd Jericho's "Listening Table" is an informal "Spirituality in Nature Group" that gathers weekly to listen to poems about nature, to the natural environment surrounding us, and to journal, sketch, and compose any artistic rendering one might wish. Our goal is to help participants listen more mindfully to creation and to one another. This blog is a resource space for our time together and a safe space for participants to extend conversations and to share works in progress. This gathering table is not an explicitly religious activity, and anyone in the extended community, whoever and whereever they might be in life's journey is welcomed to participate, the only requirement being kindness and mutual respect. No prior spiritual or artistic training is expected, but people of all traditions are welcome

Mindfullness is the  Intentional Focusing of Awareness

Attention is a persons conscious orientation toward an object, including observation, analysis and connection

Relationship is the awareness of a mutual interdependency between and among persons, objects, and ideas

Empathy is the ability to sense, imagine, and respond to the feelings of another living being

In Christianity. The Trinity is the foundational symbol of the flow of consciousness between the divine and the human, between the spiritual and earthly realms.  A powerful image of the Trinity is the mutual exchange of hospitality between three angels of God and the patriarch Abraham and matriarch Sara at their nomad's encampment near the Oaks of Mamre in the Cannannite desert, in what is now in southern Israel, near the West Bank city of Hebron.

The Medieval Eastern Orthodox iconographer Andre Rublev depicts the Trinity as the visiting  angels at table beckoning to one another and the viewer as both hosts and guests,
